HELLO!

This is the membership site of the Oaks II Home Owners’ Association (Chapel Hill, North Carolina).

The Oaks II HOA is an organization staffed by elected volunteers from the neighborhood and dedicated to maintaining the quality of our community. Out of collected dues, we pay for landscaping of the medians along Pinehurst Drive and the northern entranceway. We also organize social events, provide a directory to members, serve as a vehicle for notification of important community issues, and provide a structure for the community to respond to issues that arise from time to time. The HOA was incorporated under the laws of North Carolina at the time of community development.

All properties in the Oaks II are subject to restrictive covenants. If you plan to alter, modify or improve your property, you should consult these documents to be sure that you comply with the procedures and requirements. Per the Covenants “No dwelling house, building, fence or other structure of any kind shall be erected, placed or altered on any building lot in this area until the building plans and specifications have been approved in writing” by the HOA. The Oaks II Homeowner’s Association has an obligation to see that the covenants are enforced. The HOA will take action if: (a) a complaint is filed by a property owner; or (b) the HOA becomes aware of a violation. In addition, there may be applicable town zoning regulations.

The HOA website at oaks2hoa.org is maintained by the association and contains copies of by-laws and covenants, and other pertinent information.

If you have any questions, concerns or would like further information, please contact us at contact@oaks2hoa.org.

MEMBER
BENEFITS

Summary of activities of the Oaks 2 HOA to enhance the quality of life in our neighborhood:

Members will have access to a Directory of ALL Oaks II owners, sorted by name as well as by address. This directory helps to maintain communication and support a sense of community in our neighborhood.

Members will be contacted if there is some news that may be of special interest or importance to our members. For example, members receive emails regarding future road closures as well as safety notices, e.g. notice of a recent break-in/burglary.

The bulk of Homeowners Association revenue goes toward maintaining and enhancing the numerous medians/traffic calming devices in our neighborhood, the Ephesus Road entrance, and the cluster mailboxes. This makes our neighborhood more attractive and helps enhance our homes’ values.

Please note that the Town of Chapel Hill maintains the concrete structures of the medians but does not plant, prune, mulch, weed, clean or in any way maintain or enhance the medians.  Without HOA maintenance of these areas they would generally be unmaintained and look like the side of a highway.

Members of the Homeowners Association paid for the red brick upgrades to the Speed Tables in order to keep the neighborhood as attractive as possible, while still promoting safety for our residents, especially our younger children.

In addition to the Directory, the Homeowners Association usually sponsors a Halloween party that is oriented toward our children and a Holiday party for adult members in December. These parties are organized by the Association Social Committee.

Importantly, the Homeowners Association can act on members’ behalf in the event that a neighborhood issue arises.
